Microsoft Dragon Copilot is a single AI assistant for clinical documentation, information, and workflow. It combines Dragon Medical One real-time dictation with DAX Copilot ambient documentation, then adds information assist, encounter Q&A, multilingual capture, orders, coding suggestions, and access from any device.
How is it different from DAX Copilot?
DAX Copilot focused on drafting the note after the encounter, and it has been discontinued. Dragon Copilot keeps that ambient AI and adds Dragon Medical One dictation and new Copilot capabilities, so it supports clinicians before, during, and after each visit.

What happens if the network drops during a visit?
Recording continues. Dragon Copilot stores the recording locally when there is no connection and processes it once the connection is restored. Recording also continues when the screen sleeps, and pauses for incoming calls.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 45 minutes per session, extendable to 75 minutes with notifications at 40 and 45 minutes. Clinicians can add supplemental recordings to an encounter or record a verbal recap after the patient leaves.
What training and support are included?
A dedicated implementation team, a Customer Success Manager, 24/7 support by chat, email, and phone, a daily virtual training room from 8 AM to 7 PM ET, and in-app training with built-in AI coaching.
