Dragon Medical One

Dragon Medical One – 2020.4 Release

WHAT’S NEW

Dynamic microphone selection
For increased flexibility and time savings, users can quickly and easily use the DragonBar menu to switch microphones while using Dragon Medical One. Dragon dynamically detects new microphones and eliminates the need to exit and relaunch Dragon Medical One to choose a different audio input. Users save time, especially when changing locations or devices. Watch video

Expanded headset support for PowerMic Mobile
PowerMic Mobile 2020.4 for iOS and Android support wired headsets and microphone control with their play/pause button. PowerMic Mobile 2020.4 for iOS also supports the use of Bluetooth headsets and earbuds.

Increased alternative spellings when correcting generated text
For an improved experience when correcting text using voice, DMO displays more alternative words.

Formatting options for speech recognition output

Dragon Medical One allows users to set their preferred format for dates, times, numbers, measurements, words, and more using “Manage Formatting,” accessible in the “What You Can Say” menu. For example, users can define the format of spoken “December fifth twenty twenty” as December 5, 2020 or 12-5-2020.  Watch video

Support for spelling out text content

Users can recite individual letters, numbers, and characters to spell out medical codes, uncommon names, acronyms, special characters, and diacritics. Rather than using the keyboard to type, users say “Spell Out” and then speak characters using standard letter pronunciations or the NATO phonetic alphabet, preceded by “capital” or “uppercase,” as necessary. Watch video

ADDITIONAL ENHANCEMENTS

The 2020.4 release contains notable bug fixes that address application disruptions listed below. Please consult our release notes for detailed information.

Improved user experience when starting Dragon Medical One in standby mode
After using the Wake word to shift from Standby mode to dictation mode, dictated text will be placed within the supported application rather than the Dragon Medical One dictation box.

Enabled Backspace key configuration
In order to maintain existing workflows, the backspace button is an available hotkey for Microphone buttons configuration.

Optimized PowerChart user experience
After transferring text from the dictation box in PowerChart’s PowerNote, the cursor will maintain its position in the application. PowerChart will no longer mistakenly close when users say “Close dictation box” when using DynDoc note or when focusing on unsupported sections of the document.

Enhanced usability with patient notes
Improved Dragon Medical One performance when generating notes while navigating between different patients in Allscripts SCM 18.4 CU2. Please review the Release Notes for more information.

Increased system reliability with microphones
Dragon Medical One microphone behavior is consistent from system start through extended use over many dictations.
